Local Area

Skerryback is situated a few hundred yards from the sheltered creek of Sandy Haven.

Take a walk through Sandy Haven Wood, carpeted in bluebells in the spring, and then on to the coast footpath overlooking Milford Haven Harbour, on past Great Castle Head and the sandy beach of Lyndsway Bay and then Monk Haven. Nestling in the valley behind the old monastery wall is the ancient church of St Ishmaels.

A very special day out is a trip to Skomer Island to see the puffins, razor bills, seals and dolphins and the beautiful spring flowers.

To the south there are Bosherston Lily Ponds where you may see otters playing around the edge. Also the castles of Pembroke, Carew and Manorbier.  To the north is the smallest city in the country with the remains of the Bishop’s Palace and its unique cathedral dedicated to the patron saint of Wales, St David.
